Cours and seasons
Anime is made in cours of about twelve or thirteen episodes, each around twenty-four minutes, so one cour is about five hours. A season on a streaming service may be one cour or two, and each series page on BingeFlix lists the episodes with their dates so the breaks between cours show clearly.
Where to start
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is about sixteen hours of the gentlest fantasy of the decade. Solo Leveling and Kaiju No. 8 are ten-hour action binges, weekend length. Jujutsu Kaisen and Mushoku Tensei are around twenty-four hours each, and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime nearly forty.
Live action from Japan
Alice in Borderland is the Japanese survival series that sits well beside Squid Game, three seasons of deadly games in an empty Tokyo.
Sub or dub
Every anime on the anime shelf carries Japanese audio with English subtitles on the services Watch now opens, and the popular series carry English dubs too. The subtitles page covers the choice.
